Research Abstract |
Medical and surgical therapy for chronic rhinosinusitis and cystic lesions are worldwide standardized. However recurrence after these therapy were observed in some patients. Interactions between bony tissue and mucosa were investigated to reveal one of factors of refractory situations. Bony lesions were observed in a considerable number of chronic rhino sinusitis patients, and especially in revision surgery cases. Almost of odontogenic chronic rhinosinusitis patients showed severe bony lesions, and postoperative persisting mucosal thickness was observed. Relationship between bony thickness and surgical outcome was observed in postoperative maxillary cyst patients. Co- influence between the bony lesions and muss was presumed in some way.
