Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This intra-oral study was conducted to deliver the maxillary complete dentures with good long-term prognosis to the patients. To design these dentures, various designs of reinforcement were embedded and the strain of the dentures were measured in subjects' mouth and the strain were compared. In the results of this study, 12 subjects were participated. In all subjects, the strain of dentures with reinforcement over the residual ridge was the least and this type of reinforcement could decrease mostly the strain of denture. From the results of this study, it is suggested that the reinforcement over the residual ridge can decreased the strain of maxillary complete dentures or maxillary overdentures and this type of reinforcement can also prevent the denture fracture and deformation.
