2022年のロシア政府よるウクライナ軍事侵攻以降に生じたロシア国民（少数民族・先住民族含む）の大量出国が、ロシアの隣接地域である東ユーラシアの地域社会およびグローバル社会に何をもたらしたのか、エスニシティ・多文化共生の観点から解明することを目的とする。歴史的な背景を踏まえつつ、避難者や支援者などの個人的経験とその背景や制度影響に着目し、その過程で生じた葛藤・対立や希望の解明を通して、国家・民族・個人の相互作用を歴史的視座および現代的視座から評価する。研究組織は人類学・歴史学・経済学で構成し、海外研究者との国際共同研究も実施する。
