Outline of Research at the Start

近年の天文・宇宙観測により明らかになった暗黒物質の存在は、天文学研究から素粒子研究へまたがる大きな問題である。暗黒物質の有力候補は1-1000GeV程度の質量を持つWIMP暗黒物質であるが、発見の兆候は見つかっていない。近年になり、GeV以下の軽い暗黒物質に理論的な注目が集まっている。そこで、東北大学、KEKとLBNLが持つ低放射能技術と量子計測技術を神岡地下にて融合させて、神岡地下において軽い暗黒物質探索を行う。
