Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、前置水チェレンコフ検出器（IWCD）により、電子ニュートリノの反応断面積を測定する。これにより、ハイパーカミオカンデとJ-PARCニュートリノビームによるニュートリノ振動の測定精度を向上する。研究期間内には検出器に入射するミューオンを同定するための外水槽の設計、開発、製作を行い、IWCD検出器を完成させる。また、検出器の開発や建設と並行して、IWCDのデータ解析手法を確立する。実験開始後はハイパーカミオカンデとIWCDの初期データを解析し、ニュートリノ振動の測定とニュートリノにおけるCP対称性の破れの探索を行う。
