| Outline of Research at the Start |
過去の大気中二酸化炭素濃度（CO2濃度）を復元することは，地球の気候の歴史を考えるうえで極めて重要である．本研究では過去1000万年間のCO2変動の特徴を明らかにし，CO2変動の原因を検討する．さらに270万年前に氷期-間氷期CO2変動が始まった原因を検討する．得られる知見にもとづき，なぜCO2変動の形態が時代により異なるか考察し，総括する．
