Outline of Research at the Start

マウスのゲノムDNAには正常なmRNAを作る上で不具合となり得る配列が多数存在しています。それらがmRNAに取り込まれると遺伝病の原因となりますが、マウスにはそれらを一括して無毒化する、いわば天然の遺伝子治療薬のような役割を持つノンコーディングRNAを持っていることが明らかとなってきました。本研究では、このノンコーディングRNAの作用機序を明らかにし、同様の機能を持つRNAの同定を目指します。
