Outline of Research at the Start

Building & extending upon our recent in vitro 3D model of human somitogenesis (axioloid) we propose to reconstitute and analyze human and non-human primate (monkey & ape) axial development in vitro. Our established axioloid v2.0 model with somites & neural tube will be extensively analyzed at the molecular & functional level, with a focus on the identification & validation of human & non-human primate-specific features associated with axial development & morphogenesis. Successful implementation of our research will enhance our still limited understanding of human & non-human primate biology.
