Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、セレン代謝異常の鍵となる“SePの発現制御機構”と“過剰SePによるがん/認知機能悪化メカニズム”を解明し、SeP発現を制御してこれらの慢性疾患を改善する新しい予防・治療法を開発する。ハイスループットスクリーニング系による治療薬候補化合物の同定に加え、予防法開発として地域住民コホート研究に参画し、SePを増加/低下させる生活習慣を同定する。以上、本研究から微量元素に立脚した慢性疾患の予防・治療法開発への新しい道筋を見いだし、健康長寿の実現に貢献する。
