Outline of Research at the Start

炎症などによる組織傷害からの修復反応としての正常な線維化と、組織機能を破綻させてしまう異常な線維化（線維症）は本質的に一体何が異なるのか。本研究では組織常在性マクロファージに注目し、この「病原性変容」の実体と分子基盤を解明することで、組織線維症発症の本質を理解する。肺や肝臓の線維症を誘導しうる病原性マクロファージを同定し、これらの解析を進めて組織線維症に対する画期的な治療法開発を行う。
