Outline of Research at the Start |
This research will systematically investigate the effects of integrating three functional granular sludges including P-rich granule, microalgae-bacteria granule, and nitrogen-fixing bacteria granule on CO2 sequestration, nutrients (C/N/P) recovery, functional biomaterials production, and energy saving when treating different types of wastewaters. This novel functional granules-based wastewater treatment system will then be evaluated on benefits gained and resource/energy self-sufficiency in the context of a local wastewater treatment plant.
