Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、天災や戦災等によって失われた、日本古代・中世の絵巻をはじめとするやまと
絵作品を可能な限り探求することを第一の課題とする。その際、美術作品の伝来という観点
に着目しながら、これらの作品を個別の閉じられた研究に留めることなく、広く日本絵画史
のなかに位置付け、その文化史的な意義を改めて問い直すことを最終的な目的とする。
本研究は、やまと絵系作品の模本や日記等の古記録、売立目録などの調査研究を通じ、失
われた古代・中世やまと絵の総合的把握を目指すものである。
