Outline of Research at the Start

コンデ・コレクションはデヴィッド・W・コンデの遺族がカリフォルニア大学バークレー校C. V.スター東アジア図書館に近年寄贈したGHQ/SCAP民間情報教育局の映画検閲文書（1945-1946年）を中核とする歴史的価値の高い資料である。
本研究の目的は①存在さえ知られてこなかった本コレクションを世界の研究者が利活用できるよう資料を整理し、デジタル化の可能性も視野に入れて目録を作成し、グローバルな研究機関を介して広く世界にWeb公開すること、②GHQ/SCAP民間情報教育局の最初期の映画検閲の実態とその初代映画班長コンデの実像を解析し、占領下の日本映画産業と日本映画に残した影響を読み直すことである。
