Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、岐阜県中津川市加子母の内木家哲朗文書の整理や尾張藩の山役人に関する史料の調査を進め、①尾張藩の造林・施業計画の策定過程、②これらの中で御山守・山手代などが果たした役割、③施業にあたり杣などの労働力を編成し、伐木・造材の実務を担った杣頭の機能などを分析して、当時の森林管理・活用の実相とその到達度を解明する。また、④尾張藩との比較検討のため、山役人に関する史料が豊富に残されている幕領・諸藩についても、関連調査を実施する。これらを総合して尾張藩をはじめとした幕府・諸藩の森林管理・活用システムの実相を明らかにし、近世における林政の水準と到達点、明治以降の森林行政に与えた影響を解明する。
