Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は近世ユーラシア諸帝国の統合に資した〈軍事力〉の構造や特質を、その人的基盤と物的基盤の二つの検討課題に即して、相互に比較・検討する方法を取る。検討課題をさらに8つの共通課題に細分したうえで、それぞれを主題とする定期研究会を実施して、メンバーの専門に則した知見の交換と総合を横断的に進めていく。こうして得られた総合的知見を実地に検討するため、インドおよびイランにおける、軍事史上の舞台となった城砦等を合同で実地に調査する。これらの知見は各年度にワークショップを開催して、国際的に共有するとともに、最終的な成果を国際シンポジウムの形で発信する予定である。
