Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は近世・近代ヨーロッパの政治社会において宮廷が果たした機能とその変容を比較分析し、新たな宮廷論の構築、近世国家から近代国家への継承的な展開と統合原理を解明する。宮廷は政治権力の結節点であると同時に、複合的な社会を動態的に司る装置でもあった。宮廷には権力、政治、資源、文芸・知識のネットワークが埋め込まれており、周辺地域社会と連結して展開したのである。にもかかわらず、宮廷が地域や国家の統合にいかに複雑な過程を経て関わってきたのか、その経緯は実態的には解明されていない。地域ごとに分散している諸宮廷の知見を総合し、近世・近代を通じて、政治的装置としての宮廷の機能と役割に注目して検討する。
