Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は平安時代から室町時代において全国に流通する滑石製石鍋の高精度原産地同定と
徹底的な集成に基づいた型式学的研究・分割利用の検討によって、当該期の物流構造を刷新
することを目的とする。高級調理具であった石鍋の産地はこれまでほとんどが長崎県西彼杵
半島と考えられてきたが、本研究では西彼杵半島以外の産地の製品があることを地球科学的
手法、考古学的手法で明らかにし、石鍋の流通を根本から見直す。これにより石鍋流通の背
景にある中国宋商人や国内有力寺院、武家の動向にパラダイムシフトを生じさせる。
