Outline of Research at the Start	太平洋戦争の水中遺跡は、戦争で亡くなった人々の存在や戦争があった事実を次の世代に伝える重要な役割を担っている。またダイビングスポットとして現地の重要な観光資源となっている。しかし水中戦跡でも徐々に劣化が進み、2010年代半ばからは急速に倒壊が進んでいる。本研究では沖縄県、チューク諸島、サイパンの水中戦跡を研究対象とし、①フォトグラメトリ3Dモデルによる経年変化測定を用い、水中戦跡の構造上で特に劣化の著しい箇所を特定し、②防食亜鉛装置を設置し、金属劣化を鈍化させる。太平洋に沈む今後20・30年で倒壊してしまうであろう水中戦跡の、次の100年間の保存を可能とする方法論の構築を目的とする。
