Outline of Research at the Start

開発途上国における貧困層の多くは生計を農業に依存しており、「いかに農業技術を普及するか」は貧困削減や食料の安全保障の点から重要な課題の一つである。本研究では、良質な改良品種の種子と化学肥料のアクセスに制限があるウガンダの農家を種子生産と販売ができるモデルファーマーに育成する半年にわたる国際協力機構（JICA）の技術研修を題材にし、ランダム化比較実験と詳細なデータ収集により農業技術普及のメカニズムを究明する。農家が農業技術に関する正確な情報にアクセスする確率や、技術の有効性が異なる介入群を設けることで、実務的に活用できる普及方法を提示し実際の政策形成に貢献する。
