Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は，窮地に陥っている他者の感情への共感の神経メカニズム，および共感することを通して生起する援助行動の心理プロセスとその神経メカニズムを明らかにすることを目指す．申請者の研究室で開発したラットを対象とした行動実験パラダイムを用い，援助行動が生起する際において，嫌悪状況にある他個体に共感するプロセスと，そこから援助行動を駆動するプロセスを行動レベルで分離し，それぞれの処理に関与する脳領域から構成される神経ネットワークを明らかにする．そして，それぞれに関連する脳領域がどのような形で有機的に機能することによって共感および援助行動を生起させるのかを明らかにする．
