Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、系統学的に多様な好酸性硫酸還元菌を分離培養し、それらのゲノム・生育条件および硫黄同位体分別の「幅」を明らかにすることを目的とする。得られた結果に基づいて始原的微生物の代謝および生息環境を復元することで、「初期地球の硫酸酸性熱水環境に、硫酸還元菌が生息していた」という作業仮説を検証する。
