「ル・コルビュジエの陰に隠れた」と言われる建築家フェルナン・プイヨンの生涯業績を、南仏、アルジェリア、イラン、パリにおいて追跡し、歴史的な都市機能や文化的景観といった地域性の再構築を狙った都市計画の実践として明らかにする。国際的に最初の研究テーマとなることと、広く社会的な認知と共感を得られる都市空間論を目指す点に独自性がある。①モノグラフ研究②テーマ別展開【(1)歴史調査(2)石材活用(3)冤罪真相(4)団地研究(5)文学研究】から多面的にアプローチし、筑波大学と協定を結んだアンナバ大学等を拠点とし、各テーマに強くフランスでの研究歴が豊富なメンバーと共に推進する。
