Outline of Research at the Start

フランスでは新しい都市開発と歴史的環境の保全の緊張関係のあいだで、都市計画制度がたえず見直され、現在では開発と保全を両立させる「保全的刷新」（大谷幸夫、1979）の段階に入っている。こうした都市計画制度の過程はわが国でも紹介されてきたが、その背後で都市史的調査研究が都市デザインにもたらした影響についてはほとんど知られていない。フランスにおいても近年、若手研究者による研究がようやく始まったところである。本研究では、とくにイタリアのムラトーリに始まる都市史研究がフランスに導入され、大規模な都市組織調査が実施され、新しい都市デザインへと展開していった過程を解明する。
