Outline of Research at the Start

形状記憶合金は大変形させても荷重を取り除くだけで元の形状に戻る「超弾性」機能を示すことから、医療分野をはじめ様々な分野で利用されている。この機能は原子無拡散の構造相変態である「マルテンサイト変態」を利用して発現するものである。研究代表者は外部応力によって生じるマルテンサイト変態において弾性緩和が重要な役割を果たしていることを発見した。本研究では応力誘起マルテンサイト変態の基礎学理の再構築を目指す。
