Outline of Research at the Start

岩塩型の遷移金属窒化物は、切削工具へ被覆する硬質材料として使われている。構成元素の一部を他元素置換した準安定材料が研究・開発されてきた。本研究ではZnOの高圧相（岩塩型）に着眼した。CrNに対し、Cr⇔Zn、N⇔Oの2重置換ができれば、CrNと高圧ZnOの固溶体となる。(1)CrNと高圧ZnOの格子定数差による格子歪み、(2)高圧相が持つ圧縮抵抗性、これらの相乗効果で超高硬度オキシナイトライド材料(Cr,Zn)(N,O)を実現させる。
