Outline of Research at the Start

Colloidal quantum dot (QD) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have emerged as one promising highly efficient artificial light source. However, state-of-the-art QD LEDs suffer from concerns of toxicity and high synthesis cost. To address these concerns, the development of an innovative low-cost synthesis approach for highly luminescent QDs will be carried out. Surface ligand engineering of these QDs will be used as an additional tool to further boost the emission yield. The created QDs will be used for the construction of high-efficiency light-emitting diodes.
