Outline of Research at the Start

後期遷移金属はパラジウムを除いて、水素化物を形成しない。しかし、原子が数個程度集合した金属クラスターでは、これら後期遷移金属でも水素化物を生成する。これら後期遷移金属の水素化物クラスターに着目し、本来バルクではできない水素化物の元素特異性を明らかにする。また、9族元素のロジウムでは、Rh6+は水素と極めて親和性が高く、かつ特異的に弱い結合を示すクラスターであることがわかっている。本研究では、この高い親和性と弱い結合の起源などを、気相昇温脱離法と赤外振動分光、光電子分光法、量子化学計算を組み合わせて明らかにする。
