Outline of Research at the Start	超原子価ヨウ素化合物は，有機合成における有用な酸化剤や求電子剤として広く利用されている。これとは対照的に，本研究は，超原子価ヨウ素化合物の炭素求核剤としての潜在能力を開拓し，反応様式として斬新で合成化学的に価値の高い新規炭素ー炭素結合形成手法を創出する。具体的には，アラインの炭素ー炭素三重結合に対する有機ヨウ素(III)化合物の付加反応である「カルボヨウ素(III)化」を起点として，ヨウ素(III)化合物が求核性を発揮するために必要な電子的および立体的な要件を明らかにするとともに，求電子剤としてアラインをはじめとする各種の高反応性化学種を用いた高選択的炭素ー炭素結合形成反応を開発する。
