Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、腸内微生物叢における微生物間の水平遺伝子伝播(HGT)とその防御システムを網羅的に検出しその全容の解明を目指します。また、検出したHGTとヒトの疾患との関連性についても検証します。具体的には、ロングリードシークエンサーを用いた腸内細菌叢のメタゲノム解析を行うことで、個々の微生物の完全長染色体配列を解読し、そこからHGT領域とその防御システムを情報学的解析によって網羅的に推定します。また腸内微生物におけるHGTと防御システムの相互作用を解析し理解することで、新たな生物進化のメカニズムや疾患治療法の開発に役立つ知見の取得することを目指します。
