Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では植物の「自家不和合性」と「雄性不稔性」という，作物育種現場でハイブリッド種子をつくるために世界的に実利用されている形質の化学制御を目指す．これらの現象を司る鍵分子S-RNaseとPPRに着目し，まずはスクリーニング系を立ち上げてから，阻害活性をもつ低分子化合物を探索する．そして，そういった化合物の開発によりこれらの重要形質を特異的に制御し、化合物によって作物育種を簡易化し促進する育種体系確立を目指す．
