Outline of Research at the Start

新しい触媒開発や反応開発が有機合成化学と合成技術を発展させてきた。生物が有用な物質をつくる力＝生合成の力は現代の科学と技術によって，有機合成にも劣らない方法論によって新たな機能物質を創製するポテンシャルを持っている。新たな化合物骨格を構築するメカニズムや化合物の立体構造を制御するメカニズムの理解は，生合成技術を発展させるために必須な課題である。本研究は、生合成の力のもとになる生合成酵素の立体選択性や人為的に酵素構造を変異させて新しい機能を生み出す研究を実施する。
