Outline of Research at the Start

局所的豪雨や強風など気候変動下に伴う樹木の根返りや流木化を減ずるため、樹木の倒れにくさを担う根系構造の評価が必要である。研究代表者らは土を掘らずに地中レーダ法を用いた樹木根系の検出に取り組み、根系構造や根の表層土壌崩壊防止力の推定に取り組んできた。しかしこれらは平地の森林に限定され、国内の多くの森林が広がる斜面地での適用には至っていない。本課題の目的は
1．「地中レーダ法を用いて斜面地に生育する根系構造の非破壊推定法」を確立すること
2. 斜面地で掘取られた根系を、非破壊推定の根系と比較し、樹木地上部や土壌環境指標など影響要因を加味し「斜面地における根系3次元構造の評価法」を提案することとする。
