Outline of Research at the Start

森林土地利用変化（森林消失・新規植林）は樹木だけでなく、もう一つの巨大な炭素蓄積である「土壌」の炭素蓄積量も大きく変化させ、地球規模での炭素収支に影響を与えていると考えられる。本研究では、高解像度の全球森林土地利用変化データ、土壌炭素量観測データ、土壌炭素動態モデルを組み合わせることで、森林土地利用変化が引き起こす土壌炭素蓄積量の変化について、全球スケールで時空間分布を明らかにする。
