Outline of Research at the Start

犬猫の薬剤抵抗性てんかんに対するてんかん外科の一法として，開頭を必要とする術式と比べ，より容易で，かつより低侵襲な術式として「定位温熱凝固術 stereotactic radiofrequency thermocoagulation; SRFTC」を提案し，その方法論の確立と臨床適用性および有効性を評価する．そのために，非生体モデルでの検証，正常生体での検証，てんかんモデル動物での検証を行い，最終的には実際の犬猫薬剤抵抗性てんかん患者での臨床研究を実施する．本研究が良好な成績を修められたならば，多くの獣医師と多くの患者がてんかん外科の恩恵を受けられると共に，獣医脳神経外科に新たな窓が開かれる．
