Outline of Research at the Start

高精度・高解像度三次元（3D）スキャナーから得られた表面形状データを用いて、1500万年前・化石類人猿ナチョラピテクスの椎骨および寛骨を高精度に復元する。化石化の過程で変形している標本が多くあるので、復元作業で変形成分を除去する。体幹全体像を仮想修復し、現生種との比較分析から姿勢・移動運動様式の推定を行い、現生大型類人猿の姿勢・移動運動様式に関する進化ストーリーを解明する。
