Outline of Research at the Start	脊髄損傷に対する再生医療的なアプローチが新たな治療法として確立が期待されている。特に細胞治療は有望な治療法として報告がなされているが、慢性期脊髄損傷に対する治療的介入の報告は極めて少ない。これは慢性期損傷脊髄が極めて治療抵抗性を有していることを意味する。本研究では申請者が開発した、慢性期脊髄損傷モデル動物に対して有効性を呈する細胞移植療法をモデルとしてそのメカニズム解明を目指した研究を実施する。特に移植細胞による治療効果を多面的に解析することにより、慢性期脊髄損傷における治療抵抗性の実体、移植細胞による抵抗性の解除機構を明らかとし、革新的な治療法開発に向けた基盤を構築する。
