Outline of Research at the Start

Porphyromonas gingivalisは最も解析されている歯周病原細菌で、強力なタンパク質分解酵素であるジンジパインは本菌の主な病原因子である。我々は、ジンジパインはタンパク質分解能を有するのみならず、宿主細胞のシグナル伝達を変化させることでも宿主に影響を与えることを明らかにしてきた。本研究においてはこの機構をさらに詳細に解析する。またジンジパインは産生されたのちに菌体の外に分泌されるが、ジンジパインを分泌する９型分泌装置は既に詳細に解析されている。我々はこの分泌装置にも関わる新たな遺伝子群Aimオペロンを見出しており、本研究においてこの遺伝子群の解析も行う。
