Outline of Research at the Start

乳癌は日本人女性の中でも最も多いがんであり、日本においては死亡者数も増加を続けているため、簡便で侵襲の少ない検診方法が望まれている。そこで研究代表者は侵襲性が少なく、簡便にサンプルが採取できる涙を利用した検診方法ができないかと考え、転移性乳癌で体内に十分量の乳癌由来の細胞外小胞（以下EV）があると推測される患者の涙液を解析し、腫瘍特異的なmiRNAが高発現していることを明らかにした。本研究では腫瘍量が小さい癌のEVが涙に含まれていることを明らかにし、涙液を用いた非侵襲で簡便な乳癌の臨床検査の開発につなげる。
