Outline of Research at the Start

予防接種が高齢者の認知症リスクを下げるという報告が最近増加している一方で、予防接種による認知症リスク減少のメカニズムは良くわかっていない。申請者らは、肺炎球菌予防接種が認知症による要介護のリスク低下と関係すること及び肺炎がフレイル高齢者の認知症リスクと関係していることを明らかにした。しかしながら、予防接種は軽度認知障害のリスク減少とも関係するのか、予防接種による認知症リスクの減少は感染症予防或いは訓練免疫のどちらに依存しているのかはまだ明らかではない。私たちの研究グループは、予防接種を認知症予防対策に活用するために、予防接種による認知症リスク減少のメカニズムを明らかにする。
