Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、ロシアと中東の絡まり合いが２０世紀をどのように形作ってきたのか、そしてそれがこんにちの世界の危機にどのようにつながっているのかを究明する。ロシアと中東を結ぶ視角として、帝国や国民国家の垂直方向の統治と抵抗する人々の水平方向のネットワークに着目し、抵抗者が数十年かけて根・地下茎を張り巡らせた後に、国家が特定の土壌と気候で発芽するような動態の繰り返しとして２０世紀を捉える。本研究は、「長い２０世紀」論を提唱するものであり、帝国主義が駆動するグローバリゼーションの始まる1870年代から、ウクライナ戦争でグローバルサウスが前景化する現在までを射程に収める。
