Outline of Research at the Start

気候変動やパンデミックは、人新世とも呼ばれる新たな時代における大きな「危機」である。この「危機」の時代において、ポピュリズムの台頭や新興国の権威主義化など、グローバル化のなかで存在感が低下していた国家が復権の兆しを見せている。この国家の復権は、上述の「危機」への対応にどのような影響を与えるだろうか。本研究では、東南アジア諸国の辺境地域において、気候変動とパンデミックという「危機」への対処が、国家や様々なアクターとの相互作用のなかで、辺境地ガバナンスをどう変えてきたのかを明らかにする。そして、「危機」の時代における新たな国家のあり方や、辺境地ガバナンスの多様性・動態を地域間比較により検討する。
