Outline of Research at the Start	建築形態、居住様式、社会構造の３つの相関性から導き出される領域から、ペナン島の海上集落における住まいの普遍性と空間特性を探る。臨地調査を主軸に展開しながら、環境特性、民俗性、時間軸、機能性の面から集落の空間構成とそのデザイン原理について分析・考察する。そして、華人の移住文化を特徴づける居住形態の変遷と地域の普遍的価値を捉え直し、場所への順応方法と地域固有の空間作法を探求する。
