Outline of Research at the Start

図書館に収蔵されている古い図書資料のなかには、ヒ素を含む色材（顔料・染料）が使用さているものがある。図書館の職員や利用者がそのことを知らずにヒ素含有図書資料を取り扱ってしまうと、ヒ素中毒による健康被害が生じるおそれがあり、ヒ素含有図書資料の特定および隔離が急務となっている。本研究は、全国の図書館職員がヒ素含有図書資料をスピーディに発見できる体制を構築するため、ヒ素を含む図書資料を蛍光X線分析によって特定し、その情報をデータベース化して全国の図書館と共有することを目指すものである。
