Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は、17世紀の思想家パスカルにおいて、ジャンセニスムの信仰と『パンセ』という護教の試みとの間にあるパラドクスを、現代哲学の視角から探究することである。パスカル研究は、これまで文献学的、文学的分野で展開、発展してきた。本研究は、そうした研究の蓄積を踏まえつつ、パスカルの信仰と護教に見出されるパラドクスを、現代の哲学が直面している、内在と超越、他性と歓待、始源の欠如と言語という課題と重なり合うことを示し、両者を往還しつつ考究することによって、パスカル固有の哲学を浮き彫りにし、その現代的意義を明らかにすると同時に、現代哲学の課題に資することを目指す。
