Outline of Research at the Start	インドのヒンドゥー哲学の一派、ヴァイシェーシカ学派が説く＜空間・虚空＞の存在論上の役割を解明して、同学派の存在論を再評価する。同学派の存在論の総合的理解を研究の全体構想に据えるなか、これまで「事物」と「事物間の関係（結び付き）」に着目した研究を進めてきた。本研究では視点を変え、事物が存立する「場」である＜空間＞に着目して同学派の存在論を問い直す。同学派の『パダールタ・ダルマ・サングラハ』やその注釈書などを主たる資料として、以下4項目の研究を実施する。A）＜空間＞概念の基本分析、B）他学派の＜空間＞批判の分析、C）事物と＜空間＞との関係性の分析、D）＜空間＞概念の包括的理解である。
