Outline of Research at the Start	４年間の補助事業期間を通じて，研究は，以下の４つの部分からなる。 (1) ６大ハディース集と総称されるスンナ派の主要なハディース集に収録された４万を超える全ハディースについて，その伝達履歴をデータベース化する。(2) それらのハディースの生成と選別のパターンの数理モデルを提示する。(3) それらのハディースのおおよそ４割程度を占める法学ハディースについて，伝達履歴の分岐の仕方と，異本の内容，すなわちそれぞれのハディースがどのような法学説を表現しているのか，その対応関係を調べる。第４に，第２の作業から得られた数理モデルを第３の作業から得られた結果と照合して，その検証を行う。
