Outline of Research at the Start

「アラブの春」以降、アラブ・イスラム世界の各地で、イスラム主義の立場に立つ者からリベラル派の論客まで様々な陣営が実現すべき国家を「市民国家」としていることに着目し、イスラムと世俗主義の関係について再検討を行う。「市民国家」は、宗教的多元性を担保するという点で「世俗国家」の延長線上に想定されるものでありつつ、同時に国家の文化的真正性を確保するものとして「イスラム国家」とも重なる、とされる。イスラムには固有の「世俗主義」を生み出す論理があるのか、についてとくに焦点をあてて考察していきたい。
