Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は「土着的、近代思想としての東学（天道教）と開闢思想」（基盤C　20K00105、2020～2022年、2023年延長）を継承している。東アジア近代史の分岐点となった日清戦争は1894年に東学農民軍への対応を契機として起こったが、この政治的重要性に比して東学の思想内容に関する研究は従来乏しかった。本研究の目的は土着的、自生的近代思想を朝鮮・韓国の伝統思想、特に東学（1860年創始、1905年天道教と改称）などの開闢思想の中から取り出し、他地域の思想との比較素材を提供し、その世界史的意義を明らかにしようとするものである。またそのため日本の学会への貢献のため教祖の資料翻訳をすすめる。
