Outline of Research at the Start	近現代北海道の開拓と開発をめぐる20世紀中頃以降の政策および知識人の言説をセトラーコロニアリズム（入植者植民地主義）の視座から読み直し、北海道の政治的独立と国民国家「日本」の文化的同一性構築をめぐる問題として論じる。戦後日本のナショナリズムが主権国家日本の内部における植民地主義をともなって重層的に展開し、そしてこの構造が現代のグローバリゼーションのもとで変容しながら継続していることを明らかにする。
