Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の対象とする書簡群は立命館大学加藤周一文庫が所蔵する加藤周一宛ての来信である。その中から、戦中から敗戦後にかけて、マチネ・ポエティクを牽引した中村真一郎・福永武彦の書簡を中心に調査・分析を進める。時期としては1943年頃から1950年代の初め頃までの書簡を対象とする。マチネ・ポエティクは戦中にフランス象徴派の影響のもと、日本語での新しい定型詩を模索したことで知られる。彼らの原動力と動機はどこにあったのだろうか。本研究はマチネ・ポエティクの活動を文学のみならず、若き知識人たちの思想運動の側面から捉え直し、書簡から読み取れる知識人たちの交流や読書の跡から、当時のマチネの思想的背景を調査する。
